Woman killed by falling tree on A30 named

The 75-year-old was the passenger in the car when the tree fell onto it.

Margaret Ann Cryer, from Shaftesbury, died at the scene on the 29th November.

The car was travelling along the A30, near Compton Chamberlayne, at around 9.30am when a large tree fell onto the Ford Fiesta.

The road was closed for over 14 hours whilst police cleared the scene.

The 74-year-old driver suffered serious leg injuries and is believed to still be in hospital.

Wiltshire Police said;

"Our thoughts are with her family at this very difficult time.

"Our enquiries into the collision are continuing and anyone with information should call 101 and quote log number 103 of 29/11/18."
