ANOTHER Salisbury Nutcracker targeted by thieves

Just a few days after one of the city's festive statues was stolen, a second one's been left damaged.

Gabriel the Nutcracker, who has been standing proud at the entrance to the Market Walk, is the latest to be targeted.

His staff has been taken over the weekend (8th December) leaving him empty handed.

Salisbury BID tell us that CCTV has been gathered from the incident and is being passed on to police.

It's also not the first time Gabriel's been tampered with since the Nutcracker Trail began.

Earlier this month, he was lifted over the barrier and could have ended up in the River, if it wasn't for the statue being chained up.

Just last week (Tuesday 4th December), one of the other Nutcracker statues, named Carol, was stolen from St John Street.

There's been a social media campaign with the hashtag #BringBackCarol to try and find the 6.5 feet tall figure.

We're told there's still no further information on his whereabouts.
