Elderly Salisbury woman targeted by distraction burglar

The man claimed he was the milkman and was 'checking her order for Christmas'.

This happened at around 5.10pm yesterday evening (Wednesday December 12th) on Castle Road.

A man knocked on the door of a woman aged in her 80s and said he needed to discuss her order over the Christmas period.

When she went back inside to get a pen and paper, he came into the hallway uninvited before asking to use the toilet.

After that, he was found in her kitchen and left after she challenged him.

She noticed £60 in cash was missing from her purse afterwards.


The man involved is thought to be:

  • White
  • Aged in his 30s
  • Clean shaven
  • Short dark hair
  • Wearing a black leather jacket
  • Dark blue jeans
  • Light coloured trainers
