A lucky Broad Chalke resident has won big thanks to the People's Postcode Lottery.

They've been handed a massive cheque after their postcode was pulled out of the latest draw.

Although the winner wants to remain anonymous we do know they live on Manor Farm Close, which has the postcode SP5 5DE.

The prize was drawn as part of People's Postcode Lottery's special Christmas campaign, where one postcode is being drawn every day throughout the December draws and those who play with the winning postcode will net themselves a whopping £30,000 for every ticket that they hold.

Had anyone else been playing with SP5 5DE, then they too would have won £30,000.

Offering her congratulations to the winner, People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt said:

"Santa has definitely come to Broad Chalke early this year! I couldn't be more pleased for our lucky player and I'm sure this windfall will help them get into the festive spirit."

It's not the first win we've had in the area. In November 2017 eight neighbours in Tidworth scooped £30,000 each, and we've had winners in Fordingbridge, Salisbury and West Grimstead all taking home £1,000.

With a minimum of 32% from every ticket going to charity, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised £371 million for over 5,500 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

£15,000 of that money was awarded to the Hazel Hill Trust, to help with the conservation of Hazel Hill Wood just outside Farley and half an hour from Fordingbridge.
