The 18 year old passed away yesterday (January 3rd 2019) following a battle with cystic fibrosis.

Jess was admitted to Salisbury District Hospital last weekend after some complications with her condition and 'gained her wings' at a hospice on Thursday.

She's always been very open about her illness and the way it's affected her life.

At the age of 14, she spoke to Spire FM about what it's like to be on the organ donation register and encouraged people to sign up to help save lives.

She had a successful double lung transplant in October 2014 which gave her a new lease of life.

To mark her 4 year transplant anniversary, Jess posted a video on her social media blog, The Girl Who Coughs A Lot.

In the year following her transplant, Jess became an ambassador for the organ donation charity Live Life, Give Life.

She was also awarded one of Spire FM's Local Hero Awards in 2014, named Young Person of the Year.

Despite all her medical setbacks, Jess made a quick return to school - attending the Trafalgar School at Downton.

She also appeared in a BBC documentary following the work of doctors and medical professionals at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

She also enrolled at Peter Symonds College in Winchester last September, to study Politics, English Literature and History.

Sadly, her sister Abigail Paddock died in December 2016, also as a result of her battle with cystic fibrosis.

Jessica's parents announced her passing on social media, paying tribute to her and saying she's been 'reunited with Abigail'.

Her mum Cheryl posted:

"Until we meet again breathe easy x x x"

But Jess had also decided how she wanted her death to be marked on her own account as well - here's what she planned:

"If you're reading this I have died, yeah for real this time. I never wanted a funeral so if my parents have listened to my many instructions my body will be being cremated privately with no ceremony, and once the ashes are returned I shall be having a small gathering in my garden where my ashes will be filled into a dome and a mighty Oak tree shall be planted. I want the gathering to be like the tea party at the end of 'The Great British Bake Off' we shall call it 'The Great Jessica Wake Off'!"
