Boy struck by car in Bemerton Heath

A 12 year old's suffered a leg injury in a collision after he got off a bus.

This happened on Westwood Road, near the Rambridge Crescent junction, at around 3.40pm on Thursday afternoon (January 10th).

The boy left a bus and started to cross the road, when he was struck.

Luckily he wasn't seriously injured, but he has got some bruising to his right leg.

DESCRIPTION:

The vehicle involved is described as a small red car, driven by an older white man, with an older female passenger.

The driver did get out of the car to check up on the boy, but they didn't exchange any details and drove away.

PC Jim Brown said:

"It is likely that someone would have seen this incident - we are keen to hear from anyone who either witnessed it or anyone who has dash cam footage. The driver left the area along Westwood Road and was then lost to sight.

"Fortunately, the young boy did not suffer any serious injury - he went to Salisbury District Hospital as a precaution but was released the same evening."

Police are now appealing for anyone who might have seen what happened to get in touch with them.
