One lane was partially blocked on Churchill Way East following the incident overnight.

The stretch from St Mark's roundabout towards the College roundabout was affected.

Wessex Water received a call yesterday (17th January) at around 12.30 pm, to reports of a burst main.

Due to it being a Highways England road, work couldn't begin until 8pm last night.

Engineers were on site overnight to repair the damage which saw the burst main pouring out around 15,000 litres an hour.

Work is currently ongoing to repair the damage, with the water provider waiting on items to re-seal the blockage,

It's now thought to be cleared.
