Month long road closure for Fordingbridge

Drivers will have to find another way through the town as Bridge Street is being shut off.

It's being closed so the road can be resurfaced and blockwork replaced.

It's all part of Hampshire County Council's Operation Resilience, which is a programme to make roads more hardy to the effects of extreme weather and heavy traffic.

The works are expected to start today (11 February) and will last four weeks, depending on the weather.

The closure will run from the junction of the A338 northbound slip road to the junction of the High Street.

The town council's been informed that local traffic coming from the direction of Godshill will be able to turn north on the A338 via the slip roads, while HGV traffic will be diverted via the roundabout at Ringwood.
