Arrest after assault in Salisbury city centre

A man is being questioned on suspicion of GBH following an incident on Saturday (2nd March).

Police were called just after 2pm to an assault in the area of Winchester Street.

A man in his 30s was taken to Salisbury District Hospital by ambulance after suffering an injury to his hand.

A police cordon was set up outside the shoe repair shop Keith Acreman Services in Brown Street.

ARREST:

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and is currently in custody in Melksham police station for questioning.

Wiltshire Police say enquiries are ongoing at the scene.
