Amesbury chippy targeted by burglars

CCTV released of two men after someone tried to crack open a safe at Harlee's.

There's been an attempted burglary at Harlee's fish and chip shop in Amesbury.

Police are appealing for information following the incident at the eatery on Bence Court in the town.

What we know so far:

  • It happened shortly after 7.00pm on 28th January 2019.
  • A man entered the staff area of the shop and attempted to open the safe.
  • He was unsuccessful and left.
  • He returned around an hour later with another man via the front door and they tried to distract staff whilst one of them stole an item from the counter.

Wiltshire Police have already made a number of enquiries in a bid to identify the suspects and are now asking for the public's help.

CCTV images have been released of two men Police Officers would like to speak to in connection with this incident.
