Teenager from Mere to face 'dangerous driving' charge

It's after a Vauxhall Astra, carrying 4 people, smashed into a wall near a caravan site in North Dorset

A teenager from Mere must appear in court next week to face a charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The 19-year-old crashed the car he was driving last July causing his three passengers to be injured, one of them seriously.

Here are the details:

  • The crash happened shortly before 12 noon on Saturday 28 July 2018
  • A green Vauxhall Astra hit a wall outside Milton Farm caravan site at Milton on Stour near Gillingham in North Dorset
  • No other vehicles were involved

Woman seriously injured:

A 21-year-old female passenger from Warminster was airlifted to hospital in Bristol with serious injuries. Two other people in the car were also taken to hospital for treatment to injuries and a fourth was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The 19-year-old man from Mere in Wiltshire has been issued with a postal requisition to appear before Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Monday 18 March 2019 for an offence of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
