Mere teenager to be sentenced for dangerous driving

Published by Faye Tryhorn at 11:44am 19th March 2019.

19 year old Carter Victor Light was charged with an offence when he appeared at court yesterday (Monday March 18th).

The teen had been sent a postal requisition order, summoning him to Weymouth Magistrates.

On arrival, he was charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The charge is in connection with a crash that happened last July, when the green Vauxhall Astra he was driving smashed into a wall near a North Dorset caravan site.

That left one person, a 21 year old female from Warminster with serious injuries.

Two others needed hospital treatment for their injuries and a fourth was treated by paramedics at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved.

SENTENCING HEARING SCHEDULED:

Mr Light has pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

He's due to appear before Bournemouth Crown Court for sentencing and that's been scheduled for April 12th 2019.
