Major roadworks causing delays in Salisbury

One set of works has now been completed, but two routes into the city have temporary traffic lights or are closed today (12th April).

Thinking of driving around Salisbury today?

Well check before you travel as there are works on three roads into the city.


Netherhampton Road roadworks

The road is partly shut today (12th April) near to InExcess.

It's for 'reconstruction of a defective section' between Wilton and Harnham.

On the Wiltshire Council website, it's due to be shut until midnight.


Emergency gas repairs are taking place today and works could be ongoing until the 18th April.

It's by the junction to Harper Road.

Temporary traffic lights have gone up on the route out of Salisbury.


Castle Road Cornwall Road junction Salisbury

The temporary traffic lights have been removed on Castle Road at the junction with Cornwall Road
Spire FM News received confirmation at 1.25pm on Friday (12th April) that all the works on Castle Road, on the corner of Cornwall Road, which started earlier this morning, are now complete, and the traffic management has been removed and the road returned to normal.


A spokesperson from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), said:

"We'd like to thank local road users for their patience today as we carried out essential repairs to the underground cable network to maintain a safe, secure and reliable supply of electricity to our customers."
