Police are dealing with a truck stuck under the bridge heading out of central car park.

One of the exits from Salisbury's central car park has been blocked after a lorry hit a railway bridge.

Police were called to the exit near the city's ring road around 3.24pm today (Friday 12th April) after reports of an HGV jammed under the bridge.

Thankfully the lorry driver is unhurt.

It's been causing delays in the city centre - there's more on that on the Spire FM Travel page.

TRAINS DELAYED:

Wiltshire Police told Spire FM News that Network Rail has been informed of the lorry hitting the bridge.

There is a serious knock-on effect for rail users though

National Rail's latest information says:

"We have been informed that a road vehicle has struck a bridge in the Salisbury area. Network Rail engineers will examine the bridge, in the meantime trains are unable to cross the affected bridge.

Trains may be delayed by up to 50 minutes or cancelled. A normal service is expected to resume from 20:00hrs."
