Footage circulating on social media involving a group of young teenagers prompted concerns yesterday (14th April).

Wiltshire Police say the video, along with pictures, shared on Facebook suggested young people in the Archers Gate area of Amesbury were carrying a knife.

Officers were sent to the scene yesterday (Sunday April 14th).

A spokesperson for the force told Spire FM.

"We increased patrols of the area during the evening and officers spoke to a number of members of the public. However, we found no evidence of any crimes being reported and no weapons were seized."

The information will be logged as intelligence. We would like to thank the members of the public who provided information to us, and we would always encourage people to report suspicious activity to us via 101, or 999 in an emergency, rather than via social media."
