Specialist crews along with a vet were called to Solstice Park Avenue to help.

The grey, called Dapper, had somehow managed to get upside down in the horsebox he was travelling yesterday afternoon. (17th April)

His worried owner called Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue shortly before 5pm and a local crew from Amesbury as well as Overton and Winchester in Hampshire were sent to the scene.

There were fears the 15.2hh horse could seriously injure himself and Hampshire's specialist Animal Rescue Team were called to help along with a vet from Endells Equine Hospital in Clarendon.

Specialist crews helped to get Dapper out the trailer.

Dapper was sedated and carefully extracted from the trailer.

Dapper was closely monitored by the vet, Charlotte Thomas.

Much to everyone's relief Dapper later stood to his feet and after being checked over by the vet was loaded back into the trailer and continued on his journey.

Luckily Dapper seemed none the worse for his ordeal.
