The Met Office has put out a yellow warning for the South of England, coming into force from Friday night (April 26th).

The strong winds are part of the latest named storm for the season, this time called Storm Hannah.

The warning's in force for the South, South West and Southern Wales - starting from 9.00pm Friday evening and lasting through to 3.00pm Saturday (April 27th).

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE STRONG WINDS:

The Met Office has warned the weather could bring some disruption to travel.

They've said we could see:

  • Delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely, with bus and train services affected
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible due to fallen branches
  • It's likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities could be affected by spray and/or large waves
