The national celebration will take place between June 28th and 30th, and is expected to be the biggest event in Wiltshire this year.

Free tickets are available to book here for the three day spectacular, Salisbury AFD, at Hudson's Field.

You can apply for single days or all three and tickets are limited to a maximum of six per person.

Demand is expected to be high and Wiltshire Council is encouraging people to go online and book early.

You must get a ticket in advance if you want to attend the celebrations.

Baroness Scott of Bybrook OBE, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said;

"We’re counting down to Salisbury playing host to one of the most important dates in the military calendar. Tickets for this three-day spectacular are now online, and we are expecting there to be great interest, so my advice is to book your tickets early. I’d love to see as many of you as possible join us for what promises to be a wonderful event here in Wiltshire.

 "We're a proud military county and we're looking forward to recognising and celebrating our Armed Forces and the vital role they play. "

Up to 40,000 people are expected to attend the event each day and Wiltshire Council say tickets are needed to help manage numbers and ensure the capacity at Hudson's Field isn't exceeded.

Tickets are also needed for security reasons.

The first day of the event (Friday June 28th) is aimed at giving current military personnel and their families a chance to go along to a huge barbecue at Hudson's Field.

Serving armed forces members can apply for tickets via the Tickets for Troops website.

Wiltshire Council leader, Jane Scott said:

"We're delighted to be making 10,000 free barbecue tickets available to our military personnel and their families. We are inviting them to come along and enjoy a lovely afternoon and evening at Hudson's Field as a thank you for all they do for us and our country. There will be lots to see and do across the showground ending with live entertainment on the main stage. This is an opportunity for our armed forces personnel to enjoy time with their families as our guests."

Sunday (30th June) focuses on veterans and young people, those who have served and those who may serve.

There will be a special commemoration and drumhead service supported by the Royal British Legion, with the Bishop of Salisbury and padres leading the service.

There will also be an opportunity to create a beautiful human poppy in the main arena.
