Appeal for witnesses after angry roadside exchange near roundabout leaves a motorist injured and in hospital.

Police are hoping someone will come forward with information following a road rage incident and assault at St Marks Roundabout in Salisbury.

It happened at approximately 5.00pm on 25 April 2019 but Police have only just released details.

The victim, a local man in his 20's, was driving near to the junction with Bourne Avenue when a silver vehicle forced him into the side of the road.

Both drivers got out of their cars, the driver of the silver vehicle punched the victim to the face before driving off.

The victim sustained a facial injury which required hospital treatment.

The driver that was punched contacted Spire FM News to highlight the appeal for information:

"This happened to me 3 weeks ago and I am worried that if we don't request witnesses soon people may forget or just not want to step up."

"So I need witnesses to help with my case to ensure this does not happen again. I have currently had to have an operation, 3 days in hospital and 2 weeks signed off work.

I am lucky enough I am young and able to recover quickly but if this had been an elderly gentleman or God forbid the man had punched a woman this may have been much worse."

The suspect is described as:

  • 6ft tall
  • He had short light brown hair
  • He was wearing a hi-vis jacket

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage is asked to contact PC Dave Griffith on 101 quoting reference 54190039721.
