'Deliberate' fire at Harnham Sports and Social Club

Arson investigation after flames spread quickly through the roof of the venue on Saturday (18th May).

The blaze broke out in the roof around 2.00pm yesterday afternoon.

Luckily no one was hurt as a result of the fire but the roof of the building, at Parsonage Green, has suffered significant damage.

Firefighters from Salisbury, Fordingbridge, Andover, Poole and St Mary's tackled the blaze.

ARSON: POLICE INVESTIGATE CAUSE

Police now believe the fire at the club may have been started deliberately.

At the time of the incident, a training course was being held in the function room, and noises were heard in the roof.

WITNESS APPEAL

Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at around 2.00pm yesterday, who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously, or running away from the scene.
