Man has face slashed with knife near Salisbury

The victim suffered a laceration in the incident at Longhedge off the A345 last night (20th May).

Police were called to Davies Road in the estate around 9.05pm after a man received facial injuries during an assault.

Officers believe the injuries were caused by a knife.

The victim, who was in his 20s, was taken to Salisbury District Hospital and has since been discharged.

A 26-year-old man from Salisbury was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He's been released under investigation.

Wiltshire Police say enquiries are ongoing.
