ARMED FORCES DAY: Salisbury's first headliner revealed

Björn Again will be taking to the stage to close the three day event at Hudson's Field next month.

The internationally renowned group, who perform ABBA's greatest hits, will be the main act on the Sunday evening (June 30th).

Björn Again are hailed are the most successful act of its kind in the world.

Baroness Scott of Bybrook OBE, leader of Wiltshire Council, said:

"Who can resist getting up on the dance floor when an ABBA hit comes on? Björn Again appeals to all ages and will be a lovely way to bring this fantastic weekend celebrating our troops to a close. I'm sure they'll have everyone at Hudson's Field singing along and dancing."

The band will be joined in the line-up by some local acts, including the winners of the Shine 4 Salisbury competition


Three days of activities are planned at Hudson's Field, and around Salisbury.

Björn Again will be on the bill alongside other live music acts, many of them local, which are yet to be announced.

Other events across the weekend include a huge BBQ for military families, a parade through Salisbury city centre, a flypast, fireworks and a world record attempt to make the biggest human poppy ever seen!

HRH The Princess Royal will also be attending the celebrations on the Saturday (June 29th).

Up to 40,000 people are expected to attend each of the three days, as Salisbury becomes the focus for the national Armed Forces Day event. 


If you want to attend any of the days at Hudson's Field, you do have to apply for tickets from Wiltshire Council.

They are free of charge and you can get a maximum of six per person.

You are also able to apply for single days or the whole weekend of Salisbury AFD.

Wiltshire Council tell us they are being snapped up quickly, but they are plenty still available.
