Crash closes A36 between Wylye and Wilton

Severe disruption for commuters as emergency services deal with collision on major road in Wiltshire.

Emergency services are dealing with a crash on the A36 Warminster Road near Langford Lakes.

Two cars collided just before 5.00pm Thursday afternoon (6 June 2019).

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service told Spire FM News that 2 people are trapped, one in each of the crashed vehicles.

Crews from Amesbury and Salisbury have been at the scene.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to free both people from their cars. Both victims have been taken to hospital.

UPDATE AT 5.40pm

The A36 has been closed between A303 (Wylye) and A30 Minster Street (St Peter Fugglestone Roundabout) at Wilton due to the collision.

UPDATE AT 5.59pm

Wiltshire Police have told Spire FM News:

"We received a call at 4.50pm this afternoon (6/6/19) to a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A36 near Stapleford."

"It involved two cars and a van and nobody is believed to have been seriously injured."

"The road is being cleared."
