Man assaulted in broad daylight in Salisbury city centre

The victim was punched several times and kicked whilst on the floor yesterday afternoon (Monday 10th June).

The assault took place shortly after 4pm, on the corner of the Market Place near Allum & Sidaway Jewellers.

A 30-year-old man was punched to the head and face several times.

This caused him to fall to the ground where he was then kicked.

Police have described this as a random attack and the victim and suspect were not known to each other.

THE SUSPECT

He's described as:

  • White
  • Approximately 5ft 6 to 5ft 7 inches tall
  • Brown short hair
  • Clean shaven
  • Wearing a navy blue hooded top, with a red and white t-shirt underneath and dark trousers.

He walked off with another man in the direction of the Market Place toilets.

The second man, who stood and watched the assault take place, is described as white and of a similar height, with some stubble on his face.

He was wearing a grey tracksuit.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the assault to call them on 101 quoting crime reference number 54190055776, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
