Four unconscious people found at Downton home

Multiple emergency vehicles were called to the Wiltshire village earlier today (14th June).

Six fire engines were sent to the scene in Wick lane.

Wiltshire's air ambulance also attended alongside a hazardous area response team.

A police spokesperson said:

"We were called by the ambulance service to an address in Downton shortly before 9.50am this morning following concerns for the welfare of five individuals inside the premises."

It's unknown at this stage what the cause of the incident is.

A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said:

"Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to a property in Wick Lane, Downton at 9.51am after four people were found unconscious inside the house.

"Fire crews attended from Salisbury (two), Fordingbridge, Wilton, Amesbury and Ringwood, and four firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the property, where they were able to rouse the casualties and assist them outside into the care of ambulance colleagues.

"Our attendance is now being scaled back, with just one crew remaining on scene to support Wiltshire Police with their on-going enquiries."


Two people were taken to Salisbury District Hospital while the other two were treated at the scene by paramedics.

Wiltshire Police have issued a statement.
