Update on Downton incident

Police have released more details regarding the incident this morning on Wick Lane (14th June).

Four people were found unconscious at a property in the Wiltshire Village.

Ambulance, Police and Fire & Rescue all attended, including Wiltshire's Air Ambulance.

Two people have now been taken to Salisbury District Hospital.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said:

"We were called by the ambulance service to an address in Downton shortly before 9.50am this morning following concerns for the welfare of four individuals inside the premises.

"The four people who had fallen ill were seen to by paramedics at the scene,  two have been taken to Salisbury District Hospital and enquiries continue. There is not believed to be any wider risk to the public."

A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said:

"Fire crews attended from Salisbury (two), Fordingbridge, Wilton, Amesbury and Ringwood, and four firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the property, where they were able to rouse the casualties and assist them outside into the care of ambulance colleagues.

"Our attendance is now being scaled back, with just one crew remaining on scene to support Wiltshire Police with their on-going enquiries."

It's unknown at this stage what the cause of the incident is but it is believed to be drug related.
