The High Street could have a new cafe this summer.

Plans have been submitted for a Wafflemeister branch to open in the city!

The cafe sells world famous Liège waffles, which uses dough not batter, as well as lots of smooth gelato.

Alex Nettle, from Wafflemeister, said:

"Over 2 million of the most delicious handmade Belgian Liège waffles are sold every year from Wafflemeister stores at prestigious locations including Oxford St, Wimbledon and Kingston Upon Thames and now we're bringing this mouth watering concept to Salisbury High Street.

"Each waffle is traditional, authentic and completely and utterly delicious.

"Our heavenly gelato is handmade in Italy using a generations-old recipe. Each tube is hand-filled for the smoothest gelato this side of the Colosseum."

The hope is to open in August, if planning is approved by Wiltshire Council.

It would go into the building next to Cafe Rouge on the High Street.

A target date for decision is Thursday 18th July - you can see the plans here
