With less than 2 weeks to go Wiltshire Council are looking for people to help make the event run smoothly.

Thousands of people are set to descend on our city and the main event area, Hudson's Field, when Salisbury hosts the national event.

The 3 day Salisbury AFD event runs from Friday 28th -Sunday 30th of June.

Up to 40 thousand visitors are expected each day with the Saturday set to be the busiest.

In a letter sent out to local schools and communities Christine Lamb from Wiltshire Council says the volunteer roles are "varied and include marshalling roles on Hudson's field and at the shuttle bus locations"

"There are designated shift patterns and a full briefing session, event t shirt and manual will be available to all volunteers, who in turn will be supported by designated team leaders. "

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Council explained the authority is "specifically targeting local voluntary groups and charities for volunteers as the event is also a celebration of Salisbury and local area as well as the Armed Forces."

WHAT KIND OF ROLES ARE THERE AVAILABLE?

  • Meet and greet people at Hudson's Field
  • Meeting people off the shuttle buses and as they come into the field
  • Checking tickets
  • Giving out entry tickets.

Volunteers must be over the age of 18
