Man dies after being hit by a car on the A303

Police have launched a murder investigation.

A man injured after being hit by a car on the A303 on Friday evening (June 21st) has died in hospital this morning.

The collision happened at around 4.50pm,eastbound near Solstice Park. Police say the vehicle didn't stop.

The 63 year old injured man was flown by air ambulance to hospital, but sadly he couldn't be saved.

Wiltshire Police have arrested a 23 year old man from Watford on suspicion of murder. He's currently in custody at Gablecross Police Station in Swindon.

Detective Supt Julie Mackay who is leading the investigation said:

"We would like to speak anyone who may have seen this collision on Friday.

"This is a very busy road and I believe there would have been a number of drivers and road users who would have seen this incident.

"Also, if you have any dash-cam footage of this please come forward."
