Three hurt in A345 crash

The road had to be shut close to Old Sarum Castle following an incident involving two vehicles.

A Vauxhall Vivaro and a Ford Ecosport collided on the A345 between the Castle and the Beehive roundabout at around 1.30pm yesterday afternoon (Sunday June 23rd).

Police, fire and ambulance attended, with one person having to be cut free from the vehicle.

The driver of the Ford had to be taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

Two other people were treated by ambulance crews.

The road had to be shut for around three hours while the incident was being dealt with.

Drivers were diverted through Ford and the Winterbournes to avoid the scene.

The A345 was cleared by 4.40pm.
