The collision on Sunday (23rd June) near Old Sarum left four people hospitalised.

At around 1.30pm, a red Ford Eco Sport and a silver Vauxhall Vivaro van collided between the Beehive Park and Ride and the castle.

The road had to be shut for around three hours whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.

Drivers were diverted through Ford and the Winterbournes to avoid the scene.

WITNESS APPEAL

The driver of the Ford, a man in his 20s, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious leg injuries.

He is currently still receiving treatment but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The female passenger of that vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A man and a woman travelling in the van were also taken to hospital but both they and the female passenger have now been discharged.

PC Jim Brown, from Wiltshire South Community Policing Team, said:

"We would like to hear from anyone who either witnessed the crash or who saw either vehicle shortly before the collision.

"We would also ask people to check their dash cam footage to see if they have anything which could assist with our enquiries."

Anyone with information should call PC Brown on 101, quoting reference 54190060551.
