Salisbury Hospital to become 'Battlefield Hospital' for AFD

The Odstock site are holding a 'real' military hospital today (30th June) to honour the armed forces.

Salisbury Hospital are inviting the public to help them show support of our military today.

From 10am - 5pm, 243 Wessex Field Hospital (part of the Army Reserve Medical Services) will be on the hospital's green by Entrance B.

They'll be carrying out demonstrations and provide people with the chance to see exactly what the medics do.

This extraordinary work is often under fire or in the toughest conditions.

Andy Hyett, Chief Operating Officer at Salisbury District Hospital commented:

'It is a real honour to have 243 Wessex Field Hospital on our site during the national armed forces day weekend celebrations.

"It will be fascinating to see how you run a hospital under battlefield conditions.

"This is also a great way to bring some of the celebrations taking place in the city to the hospital, for our staff, patients and visitors to enjoy and learn."
