Two local schools broken into on same night

The primary schools at Landford and West Wellow are less than 5 miles apart.

The Key Stage 1 site of the New Forest C of E Primary at Landford was broken into last night (9th July).

Wiltshire Police say the offenders smashed their way in and tried to rip a safe out.

A number of windows were broken in several classrooms and doors damaged.

The site has had to be closed to pupils today (10th July).

Meanwhile a few miles away another local school also just off the A36, Wellow Primary was targeted.

INCIDENTS LINKED?

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police told Spire FM:

"We are aware of a similar incident last night a short distance away in Hampshire and we are liaising with our colleagues there to ascertain if the two burglaries could be linked.

Anyone with any information should contact police on 101."
