The Stars Appeal supporters have not only reached their target - they've gone and smashed it.

Last night (10th July) the group got together to hand over a cheque for £133,326.97 to the hospital charity.

The chief executive of Salisbury District Hospital, Cara Charles-Barks, who attended the cheque presentation, says she's very proud of the team.

WHAT A CHALLENGE

Although the challenge may sound simple, it was a tough one for many of them.

They walked 70 kilometres over six days, covering some rough terrain with a lot of steps, but getting some incredible views.

Their aim was to reach at least £100,000 which they've now done, and more.

Stacey Burton is a Maternity Assistant at Salisbury District Hospital.

She took on the challenge not only as a personal achievement, but also to give back for all the treatment she's had:

CAKE TO CELEBRATE:

The trekkers reunited at Salisbury Cathedral last night to mark their amazing fundraising.

Penny Brown who is the Chair of Stars Appeal told the group it was "an amazing achievement."

The participants tucked into a creation of the Great Wall of China made out of cake to celebrate their efforts.

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?

Each trekker could raise money for a certain ward or department, or for the Every Patient Fund - which provides things like the wifi.

It will also help to provide the ongoing support the charity provide for the hospital.

This includes the installation and running of the new MRI which was fundraised for by the Stars Appeal.
