The first ever Loving Arms Festival was held in memory of Anne Pester.

Over 500 people attended the event over the border in Milton on Stour, in Dorset which included live music, a hog roast, BBQ, bar, raffle and an auction.

Anne's husband Richard Pester explains why they decided to hold the fundraiser:

"Anne was transferred to Salisbury Hospice in January 2018 and was treated and looked after extremely well by the amazing staff there. Anne was put into a large room and a bed was provided for myself so I could stay by her side every night until the end.

As Salisbury Hospice and staff were so brilliant and caring both toward Anne and my family. We would like to repay them in some small way by fundraising to help keep the high standards and this amazing service available to others."

It's hoped the event will become an annual festival.

Salisbury Hospice say it's "testament to the power of community fundraising and people coming together to support their local hospice."

The charity say they're very grateful for the amazing sum raised.

"We would like to thank the incredible Pester family and their many supporters for raising an astonishing £7,311.75 in this, the first year of the event."
