WATCH: Salisbury Cathedral School take on Springwatch

Published by The Spire FM News Team at 12:20pm 18th July 2019.

Move over Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan - two 11-year-old pupils are coming for your job!

Ben Dennis and Eleanor Biddulph, who are RSPB young ornithologists, have created their own Springwatch-esque video.

Their footage gives us the latest update on the four peregrine juvenile falcons, Pansy, Petunia, Sky and Perry, and their parents Fiona and Bruce.

We think Chris and Michaela should be shaking in their boots...

Ben and Eleanor are also planning to train as ringers this year, hoping to assist the RSPB's Ed Drewitt with any new peregrines.

You can watch the peregrines live here.

You can also keep an eye out for them in the skies - they all wear the distinctive blue ID ring that denotes they are peregrines from the South West and each bird has its own unique initials on the ring:

  • Sky - VX
  • Pansy - VW
  • Petunia - VV
  • Perry - VS

The falcons have started to fly and are expected to fully fledge in the next month.
