Flashing speed sign deliberately damaged in Salisbury

Published by The Spire FM News Team at 6:43am 19th July 2019.

The Speed Indicator Device was only recently installed in Odstock Road near the hospital.

Police say the device close to the junction with Rowbarrow was deliberately damaged with a hammer.

The incident happened overnight between July 14 and 15.

A panel was deliberately smashed on the piece of kit.

PC Matt Holland said:

"SIDs are the displays that flash up the speeds of vehicles in a bid to deter speeding issues in areas. This device is owned by Salisbury City Council. We'd ask anyone with information to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190069589."
