Acting Inspector John Hutchings told Spire FM News:

"This was an excellent example of different teams working together to locate an individual who had failed to stop when requested to do so by officers."

"The vehicle was seen to drive at speed with no regard for other road users and then overturned in a field off Livery Road. It was extremely fortunate that nobody was injured, or worse, killed."

"The dog unit, drone unit, NPAS, and local officers worked together to put a containment on the area after the driver decamped, and a male was later arrested. During this time, two officers were assaulted - causing an injury to an officer's ankle. This is completely unacceptable behaviour and simply will not be tolerated."

The teenager remains in custody for further questioning.
