You're never too old to do your bit for the hospital charity.

Don Robertson was one of over a thousand people who took part in this year's Walk for Wards in the grounds of Wilton House earlier this month.

The pensioner from Amesbury raised £410 for the Parkinsons Fund in memory of his wife

He's taken part in every Walk for Ward since 2011 bar one and has raised more than £1,700 in total

Gemma Heath from the Stars Appeal says his efforts are very much appreciated.

"Don is a legend! This was his 8th Walk for Wards, walking in memory of his wife Sylvia, to raise money for our Stars Appeal Parkinsons fund. Our huge thanks to Don for his brilliant support and we very much look forward to seeing him again next year!"

This year's event is set to raise £105,000 for the Stars Appeal with the money benefiting a range of wards across the district hospital.

Meanwhile the date for next year's Walk for Wards has been confirmed as 5th July.

Again there will be a 10k, 5k and 3k.
