The site on Butcher Row will soon be occupied once again - but it won't be too much of a change.

Stones Kitchen Cafe is expected to open in early September, following a little bit of re-decoration inside the building.

Owner Alan Stoneham's  told Spire FM News he wants the business to 'offer something Salisbury doesn't have', saying:

"It will be an independent, contemporary, bright cafe, offering simple, but high quality food."

As well as the daytime trade, he's also hoping to get a licence to serve limited alcoholic drinks on Friday and Saturday nights.

A sign's been posted on the window of the former cafe asking anyone interested working in the cafe to get in touch

Subject to contracts being signed, Mr Stoneham's hoping work can begin on site in the next couple of weeks.

Salisbury's Patisserie Valerie closed in January this year, after the company fell into administration and a number of branches across the country were forced to shut.
