Amesbury home burgled while owners were in the garden

Thieves got into the home on Allington Road through an unlocked front door.

Wiltshire Police tell us this happened between 10.00am and 2.00pm on Saturday 10th August.

Gold rings, headphones and XBox controllers were stolen during the incident.

The incident's prompted officers to remind us all to be mindful about our home security and take precautions so it's not easy for opportunist thieves.

Earlier this year, Wiltshire Police developed an online app called Game of Homes, taking inspiration from Game of Thrones, to pass on advice about keeping our homes safe from burglars.

That gave us the chance to choose certain consequences to a situation, so we could see if our answers might leave us at risk.
