BRITFORD: Travellers move on - but leave mess behind

Published by Faye Tryhorn at 9:13am 20th August 2019.

The group of caravans were pitched up at the Park and Ride site for five days, but haven't taken their rubbish with them.

They'd been served with an eviction order asking them to leave the Wiltshire Council land by 3.00pm yesterday (Monday August 19th).

Half the caravans left over the weekend, with the rest remaining until yesterday evening.

There's also fuel and oil stains on the parking spaces, concrete slabs and even a van still at the car park.

Wiltshire Council confirmed yesterday that they were taking action to get the travellers away from the Britford site.

The waiting room and toilets for the Park and Ride were closed too - but that's due to a blocked drainage system.
