Man struck round the head during Salisbury robbery

The 40 year old victim was left with cuts after being attacked in Bedwin Street in broad daylight.

The robbery happened at around 12.30pm on Sunday lunchtime (August 17th) on the corner of Endless Street.

The victim was approached by a man who hit him round the head with an unknown object and stole a small amount of cash.

He made off in the direction of Salt Lane.

The victim had needed to be treated by paramedics for the gash to his head.


A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of a Class A drug in connection with what happened.

He's been released on conditional bail while enquiries are ongoing.

Wiltshire Police tell us the victim and offender are known to each other.

There's now an appeal for information about the robbery.

Detective Constable Caroline Biggs said: 

"We would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident involving the two men - you may have information which could assist our enquiries. The suspect is described as:

  • White
  • Brown/grey hair
  • Wearing a grey Adidas t-shirt
  • Jeans
