AMESBURY: Car seized for FOURTEEN traffic offences

Wiltshire Police have taken a Seat off the road because it was deemed so dangerous.

The car was stopped at Solstice Park yesterday morning (Wednesday 21st August).

Officers found a raft of problems: 

  • Child not restrained in an appropriate seat
  • Driver not wearing a seatbelt
  • No tax
  • Rips in two tyres
  • Cord exposed in one tyre
  • One tyre with below 1.6mm of tread
  • 2 brake lights not working
  • Rear position light not working
  • 2 cracks in windscreen
  • Contravening a Keep Left sign

OTHER CARS STOPPED

Amesbury officers also stopped two other cars in the town yesterday morning.

They were both on London Road - with one driver reported for using a mobile phone at the wheel.

Another was given words of advice for not being taxed, and that was rectified at the roadside.
