Charges are being waived while new pay machines are installed.

Work's been carried out on the barriers at the shopping centre car park for the last week or so.

But the next phase is to replace the payment machines, which has been started this morning (Tuesday 17th September).

Signs have been placed on the older machines saying that while the changes are made, no payment's needed.

Shoppers will still need to take a ticket from the machine at the entrance to open the barrier though

WHAT CHANGES ARE BEING MADE?

According to the Old George Mall, the new machines are an 'upgrade' for the payment methods that have been there previously.

We're told they should be ready for use 'by the end of the week'.

The entrances and exits are being made 'easier to navigate' with new parent and child bays on the ground floor too.

These payment machines are being replaced over the next couple of days

The Old George Mall is generally busier on Tuesdays, as shoppers come into the city for the Charter Market.

The car park's also used by a number of city workers.
