The former St Michael's primary school in Figheldean is looking for new owners.

The building in the village has come up for sale or rent after St Michael's Primary school was relocated to new premises in Larkhill, which officially opened last year.

Property consultancy Myddelton & Major has been instructed to market the school premises, which occupies a site on the High Street of approximately 0.71 acres.

The old St Michael's Primary School building in Figheldean dates back to 1885.

Partner at Myddelton & Major, Dean Speer, said:

"This former school site has potential for a range of uses, subject to planning. Figheldean is a historic village, mentioned in the Domesday Book... the school building dates back to 1885 and currently has classrooms, offices and WC facilities."

A number of temporary classrooms are also still on the site.

The asking price hasn't been revealed.

St Michael's Primary School moved to Larkhill as part of a huge upgrade and expansion of several schools in the area to cope with the Army rebasing, and an influx of more children from military families.
