A house on Castle Road was broken into yesterday morning with the patio doors smashed.

The property was targeted around 10.30am on Monday (19th Nov) but the thieves were disturbed by the homeowner and fled the scene through a neighbour's garden.

Two 18 carat gold bangles were taken.

Police say a white Ford Transit was seen in the area and it's believed the offenders made off in this vehicle.

Officers are understood to be studying CCTV from the nearby Harvester Pub.

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190114539. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

On Friday morning a property in Alderbury was broken into with jewellery among the items taken - however the crimes are not believed to be linked.
