The New Cut Junction is being turned into a four arm roundabout.

As part of the development for St Peter's Place, the junction on the A360 Devizes Road in Salisbury is being worked on by Persimmon Homes.

Works have now re-started after a three month break, which was caused by 'Persimmon finalising some legal complications'.

People will be on a site for a minimum of five days a week, but will have a two week shutdown period between the 20th December and 2nd January, for Christmas.

They are aiming to have the roundabout completed by May 2020 but say adverse weather conditions or unforeseen issues may cause further delays.

However measures are in place and all efforts are being made to ensure works are completed on time.

Cllr Bridget Wayman, Cabinet Member for Highways, said:

"These works are essential improving the safety of a busy junction. I appreciate road users will experience delays at times and apologise for this.

However, it will be short term pain for long term gain. Once the roundabout has been installed, the junction will not only be much safer, it will allow traffic to move more smoothly."

Wiltshire Council say they will be constantly reviewing traffic management to make sure disruption to drivers is minimised.
