The incidents in the city centre were both reported on Thursday afternoon.

One of the thefts happened just before 1.50pm that day (19th December) in Blue Boar Row.

A purse - containing £150 in cash and a credit card - was taken from a handbag.

The card within it was then later used to make purchases in local shops.

Both incidents happened close to each other in Salisbury city centre

A few minutes later, another incident was reported in the Market Square.

A large straw bag was unzipped and a multicoloured leather purse taken from inside.

There were some cards within that purse.

Wiltshire Police say they're making CCTV enquiries for any information about both thefts.

They've also said that they're looking at all shoplifting and pickpocketing incidents in Salisbury city centre as being potentially linked, as part of the ongoing Operation Hamper.
