No New Year's Day event for Salisbury parkrunners

Organisers have been forced to cancel Wednesday's event because of the wet weather.

On a post on their Facebook page said that they are having to abandon the fourth parkrun in a row due to Churchill Gardens being flooded.

With conditions still really bad and more rain forecast over the next couple of days, they have made the decision to cancel again.

Lots of runners were expected to turn up for the event as well, with 454 people taking part on the 1st January 2019.

BAD END TO THE YEAR

The weather has caused havoc for runners over the past few weeks, with this being the fourth one in a row scrapped, and the last one taking place on the 14th December.

If the course conditions improve, the next race will be Saturday 4th January, but they will be posting updates on their Facebook page.

But if you are still looking to get your running fix, Andover's and Southampton's parkruns are still scheduled to go ahead.
